Episcopal Academy hosted St. Stephens & St. Agnes Saints last Saturday for both teams’ lacrosse season openers. St. Stephens & St. Agnes, ranked #35 in the DigitalSports’ Boys Lacrosse Power Rankings, were able to defeat the eighth ranked Churchmen in a defensive battle by the final score of 8-5.
It was a rough start for the St. Stephens & St. Agnes boys as Episcopal controlled the field taking an early 5-1 lead in the first quarter. But this wasn’t going to stop the Saints. Senior Saints goalie, Sam Beazell, along with his teammates, kept fighting and ultimately started to pick it up in the second quarter.
Saints forward Seth Miller scored three goals in the third quarter, making it a tight game. Both teams battled to the finish, but ultimately, the Saints prevailed.
